Creating a smoother canvas surface can be easy with Molding Paste. This preparation works well for oils, acrylics, and other media and creates a surface that requires less paint to cover and holds finer detail. Work Molding Paste into the weave of your raw or pre-primed canvas with a palette knife, plastic spreader, or scraper as shown. You may repeat this step or even wet-sand Molding Paste after it has dried to achieve a very smooth finish. Experiment with tools and processes to find what works best for your needs.
